The Geotechnical Division of Applied Consultants was formed in 1985. The Division's senior personnel have over 45 years of geotechnical experience. Applied Consultants has provided geotechnical services on a variety of projects, ranging from single family residences to large commercial projects. We work statewide in California, Nevada and Arizona.

Principal and Senior Project Geologists are California Registered Geologists, Certified Engineering Geologists and Registered Civil Engineers in California, Nevada and Arizona. Our project and field personnel are geologists trained in field techniques and geotechnical sampling, bringing experienced knowledge to your project.
Materials Testing Laberatory
Applied Consultants has a complete soils and materials testing laboratory. We specialize in soils and concrete testing. All tests are performed in strict adherence to the ASTM. Our laboratory is calibrated and certified yearly.

Applied Consultants offers extensive soils and materials testing at our laboratory. Each of our offices is capable of conducting geotechnical investigations in accordance with ASTM, UBC and/or AASHTO standards. The following summary lists some of the geotechnical laboratory and field equipment used by Applied Consultants.
Tests performed include both direct and residual shears, ASTM D 3080-72(79), unconfined compression tests (ASTM D 2166-85), California Bearing Ratio tests (ASTM D 1883-73(78)), soil cement tests (ASTM D 1633-84) and consolidation tests in conformance with ASTM D 2435-80.

Applied Consultants' Hydrogeology Division specializes in evaluating ground water quality and resources, aquifer testing, dam studies, mass balance calculations for nitrate studies, and ground water modeling.
Applied Consultants has experience in all aspects of ground water investigation, including in-situ determination of hydraulic coefficients, monitoring and pumping well design, and computer modeling of ground water flow systems. Services offered by this division include, but are not limited to, the following:

Applied Consultants has performed over 1000 contaminant studies during the past twenty years. These studies range from literature search and reporting to identification and delineation of unknown contaminants. We have designed and completed over 100 site remediation programs which have been carried through to site closure. We are an accepted contractor for the State Fund and are performing numerous State Fund clean-ups and monitoring programs.
Phase I Environmental Site Assessments Reports are required for many commercial real-estate transactions. Benefits of using Applied Consultants for a Phase I are a quick turnaround time and reasonable prices.
